Scope Creep

You would think this has something to do with an undergarment venturing into a region where it doesn’t especially belong, and you would be half right. Like wandering knickers it’s a little uncomfortable. Unlike the knickers, it takes a lot more work to fix.

Project managers use this term to describe what happens when they have way more work than they anticipated either because they are not that bright or because their colleagues have dumped more pointless tasks into the milestone. Usage: “I’m pretty sure I’m not supposed to translate the website into Latin. There’s a little scope creep happening here…”
